This course will include a comprehensive mid-term assessment that will count for 10% of the first semester grade.
All courses will include a comprehensive written final examination that will count for 20% of the final grade. All final examinations will occur during the school-wide scheduled final exam window.

Academic honesty is an essential principle of any academic program that enhances an educational organization’s credibility and position as a leader. As stated in the IB learner profile, all members of the GMHS community strive to be “principled,” acting with “integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities.” In all their studies, students must demonstrate academic honesty and avoid any form of academic misconduct. Each student’s understanding of academic honesty is documented by completion of the Academic Integrity Canvas course. Blended instruction (live and non-live) will take on multiple forms: pre-recorded instruction with live Google forms, flipped classrooms with added discussion forums, scheduled Google Meets, etc. Students will be given regular directions about how class-time will be managed for each allotted class period.

Attendance will be taken in PowerSchool for each class. Students will be marked present if:
a student completes their daily assignments, either online or offline; and/or
a student is present in synchronous “live” instruction.

Information concerning health and safety protocols and expectations will be disseminated to families before schools transition to Plan B, face to face instruction. It will be the requirement that anyone who enters the building will wear a face mask at all times, unless professional documentation is provided to the school. All students will receive a temperature check and health screening upon entering the building each morning under Plan B.

In this course, students develop an understanding of the processes involved from the creation to the consumption of products/services. Students develop an understanding and skills in the areas of distribution, marketing-information management, market planning, pricing, product/service management, promotion, and selling. Students develop an understanding of marketing functions applications and impact on business operations. Mathematics and social studies are reinforced.

In this course, students will apply an understanding of marketing functions and impact of the functions on business decisions. Through problem solving and critical thinking, students will apply knowledge and skills in the areas of customer relations, economics, financial analysis, channel management, marketing-information management, marketing planning, products and services management, and selling. Relative opportunities are available for students to use technology to acquire and use marketing information. English, language arts, and social studies are reinforced.
The purpose of the Marketing Applications course is to enable students to acquire a realistic understanding of marketing processes and activities. The course is designed to introduce students to all marketing activities so that they can begin to identify and focus on those activities of interest. Students will investigate marketing functions, analyze ethical and legal issues associated with each marketing function, and recognize how technology is used in marketing.
The broad goals of the Marketing Applications course are to accomplish the following:
Reinforce academic skills in such areas as communication, reading, and writing.
Encourage creative thought, problem solving, and decision making.
Enable students to understand and appreciate marketing and its application in business.
Stimulate student interest in marketing careers.
Increase student awareness of the increasingly complex business world.
Assist students in developing appropriate attitudes about marketing.
Encourage the use of technology in classroom projects.
Assist students with enhancing their teamwork skills.
Stimulate reflection on processes, performance, and outcomes.
