First things first: the proper way to pronounce my last name is "hi-la-brock" :)
This is my ninth year teaching middle school science and my fifth year at MPMS! I graduated from Kennesaw State University in Georgia with a degree in Middle Grades Education specializing in science and language arts. I am very enthusiastic about science and about teaching in general! I am constantly searching for ways to incorporate a quick science lesson into casual conversation. I strive to provide fun, meaningful, and interactive activities into my lessons.
I have a 10 month old son named Vincent, a 2.5 year old daughter named Mckenna, and a perfect Boston Terrier named Digsby. I love to be outdoors and I love to travel to new, unique places. My personal goal is to attend as many National Parks as I can during my lifetime (the next one on my list is either New River Gorge or Shenandoah). When I'm not traveling or sharing my obsession for science with others, you can find me obsessing over my dog, baking, singing along to Disney songs or watching the latest Netflix series.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better as we progress through the school year!
