This week in Pre-K

Wow! The first quarter flew by! We hope you enjoy track out, and we look forward to seeing the children on October 20th😊.

Extra Clothes Swap

Since it will likely be cooler outside when we track in, I will send home all warm weather/summer extra clothes this week. Upon track in, please send extra clothes for your child appropriate for cooler weather. If your child has nap bedding at school, I will send that home with them as well.

HSES Yearbooks

Yearbook sales are now open. Yearbooks are available for purchase at www.bit.ly/HSESyearbook.

September FSP Workshop

The first FSP day of the year is tomorrow, September 26th. We are planning a family workshop in our classroom at HSES beginning at 9:30 a.m. Information was sent home in your child’s home/school communication notebook about the workshop. Hope to see you there!

October FSP Workshop

On October 31st in the morning, we will join the pre-k class at Weatherstone Elementary for an information session led by the Office of Early Learning Social Work Team regarding community resources for families of children with special needs. Specific details will be sent home when we track in, but I wanted to give you notice so you could put the date on your calendar.

Mrs. Donna is Retiring

After almost 20 years at Holly Springs ES and over 40 years serving young children and families, Donna will be retiring at the end of October. Our administration is working to hire a new pre-k team member, and we hope to

have someone in place soon after Donna retires. We appreciate your support and understanding during this transition. We are forever grateful to Donna for all she has done over the years to support children and families! She will be missed very much but we are excited for her to enjoy her family and friends in her retirement 😊

Express Yourself… tips and tricks to help facilitate your child’s social-emotional development

If anyone is interested in a little road trip over track out, I recommend checking out Sassafras All Children’s Playground at Laurel Hills Park in Raleigh. It is a bit of a drive from the Holly Springs area (about 30 minutes or so depending on traffic), but it has several adapted swings and other options for all children. It would be a fun adventure on a nice fall day 😊

Communication Notebook Reminder

Please check your child’s home/school communication notebook daily for important information from our classroom and school. Please review both the information written on the daily note as well as any information that may be in the front pocket of the notebook. Thanks!
