Planning for

Test Day

Important Reminders and Instructions - Planning for TEST DAY

Get connected! – Students must check their WCPSS Student Email Account often.  Important updates will be shared via this account.  Don’t miss out on important information!  Make sure you are connected to your grade level Remind Group.  We will send important information via Remind text.  See your counselor if you are not connected to the Remind Group.

AM exams begin at 7:45am.  PM exams begin at 11:45am.  You must arrive on time.  If you are late and the exam has already begun, you will not be allowed to enter the testing room.  Remember, there is no makeup testing.  You will be charged an unused exam fee.  Students may not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended.  Do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the test, as your request will be denied.  If you play a sport or have a job, it will be your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP obligation and arrangements should be made accordingly.

Morning exam?  The HHS school day begins at 7:25am.  Report to campus like a normal school day.  We will not be holding doors open longer just for testing.  Check in with your 1st period teacher (if applicable) before reporting to the media center/testing location.  Don't have a 1st period on campus?  Report to the front office for check-in.

How long is my AP Exam?

Taking two exams in one day?  Plan to pack a lunch.  There is a designated area for you to rest and eat.  Do not try to leave and take the risk of being late to your 2nd exam.

NEW POLICY FOR AP EXAMS 2024:

While students are taking their AP exam, they will be marked present for the classes they are missing while they are testing.  After the AP exam is concluded, students return to their regularly classes.  For afternoon exams, students are attending their 1st and 2nd period classes.

Morning testers will have B lunch.

Afternoon testers will have A lunch.

It is imperative that students read and understand

the AP Terms and Conditions.

Students are responsible for knowing CollegeBoard policies regarding testing.  The Office of Testing Integrity, stresses that no cell phones should be brought into the testing room.  Please make plans now to secure cellphones with someone or a place other than the testing room. Any student violating this CollegeBoard rule may be dismissed from testing.

AP Testing with Accommodations

Do you have an IEP or 504 plan and regularly use testing accommodations listed in the plan within your classes?

Collegeboard is a separate entity of school systems.  Students must apply for testing accommodations through Collegeboard if they need accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, and/or AP exams.  Students/parents should contact their IEP case manager or 504 coordinator for next steps.  AP exams are in May of each year.  The deadline to apply for testing accommodations is typically in January of each year.
