Here is the North Carolina Essential Standards we will be learning in 6th grade science.

Canvas

Your student will access all of their classroom resources on Canvas. Parents may set up an observer account. You can learn how to set up an observer account here. Students will use this platform for most of their work submission and for accessing learning material. If they need to review concepts before an assessment, they should use Canvas for study materials.

Grading

The MPMS Grading Policy is outlined here. If you have questions about a specific assignment, please email me! Check PowerSchool for additional information if a student scored low or has a missing assignment. Students are asked to complete a missing work form through Canvas for any late work submitted. I update late work grades once per week.

Supporting Your Student

Ask your students questions to best support your student in their studies. Ask them to teach you what they have been learning about. Students will have new every unit that they should practice. Students should spend 20-30 minutes each day reviewing what we have learned in class or finishing tasks they need additional time on.
