Information below pertains to current  4th-5th grade students.

NOMINATIONS FOR 25-26 School Year

Academically Intellectually Gifted Nominations are taken throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Students will be tested following the WCPSS AIG testing window. Nominations given after the Fall 2025 testing window will be placed in the Spring 2026 testing window. Nominations given after the Spring 2026 testing window will be placed in the Fall 2026 testing window. The nominations are for 4th and 5th grade students. 

Information for 3rd grade Parents...

3rd grade students may be retested in the Spring of 2026. Students must wait one calendar year to be retested.

​Information for 2nd grade Parents...

The CogAt will be administered to all 2nd grade. The CogAt testing will occur in Spring 2026.

CogAt Testing- The CogAT 2nd grade assesses verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative abilities, and is used for admissions into gifted programs. The CogAT is an especially strong test for measuring relative academic strengths and weaknesses. All WCPSS 2nd graders will be assessed during the school year.

IOWA Testing- The 2nd grade IOWA assesses achievement, what the student has learned so far. This test is given after the CogAt to students who score 85% or higher in one or more areas of the CogAt.
