My name is Cameron Freeman. I was born in Orlando, FL in June of 1994, and raised in a military family. My dad served in the United States Air Force for 15 years, so moving was something we did regularly. This is, officially, my first year teaching. Before this I was a long term sub. I graduated from Gardner-Webb University in December, 2017 with a degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Science.
While at Gardner-Webb, I was a practice player for the basketball team and a member of the Student North Carolina Association of Education (SNCAE). I also was a part of the marching band my sophomore year (marching band requires a lot more athleticism than I had anticipated), and played intramural sports.
My hobbies include playing sports, going to the beach, learning new languages (my personal goal is to be fluent in at least 2 other languages), playing music, and eating food. I love to go see new places, and try new things.
Being a Florida kid, I naturally have support for Florida teams and schools. Since I've been in North Carolina, I have pulled for the UNC Tarheels, Gardner-Webb (for obvious reasons), and the Panthers (when they're doing well).
As a teacher, it is important to build relationships with students, and to have fun while learning. Any opportunity to do things outside of the box or show differently, I will gladly take. It's also important for me to keep the kids actively engaged in each lesson.
