Mr. Danahy’s Welcome Letter!
All about Mr. Danahy…
I am thrilled to be one of your child’s 4th grade teachers next year! Please read below to learn a little more about me as well as my/our expectations for learning:
Prior to coming to Raleigh, NC in 2007, I worked as a behavioral therapist through Lifespan at Bradley Hospital in East Providence, RI. During this time, I worked in direct care with children between the ages of 5 and 12. I also worked in a leadership capacity to support therapists within our treatment program to improve overall quality of patient care within the milieu.
Before coming to Brassfield Elementary in 2011, I had the privilege of teaching 5th grade (1 year) and 3rd grade (3 years) at Wilburn Elementary.
I’m extremely excited about the 2023-24 school year as I will be working in a team-teaching capacity with Mrs. Easley. As team teachers, I will teach all of the Math, Science & Social Studies. Mrs. Easley will teach English / Language Arts.
Leadership: I will be acting as grade level chair this coming school year.
Parent communication and support is extremely important to the success of all students. Please feel free to reach out to either one of us with any questions or concerns you might have throughout the school year.
Collaboratively, our grade level recognizes the importance of working together strategically. Together, we will work to develop units, differentiate instruction and facilitate learning that best meets the unique needs of our learners.
Daily Expectations:
Students will complete homework and give their best efforts daily.
Students will actively engage in learning both collaboratively and independently.
Students will treat both peers and adults with respect.
Students will follow classroom and school rules while putting safety first.
I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to get to know and work with your child this coming year and to support him/her into becoming responsible, life-long learners as we head deeper into the 21st century.
