Welcome to Entry Level Video Editing. This resource will walk you through each step of the editing process. There may be a wide variety of reasons why you need to use a video editor. Maybe you are producing a video for your school website or creating an instructional video. This resource is designed for beginners. We will be using Adobe Premiere Rush to learn how to edit video productions. Follow each step of the process. If you have experience with a specific step, feel free to progress to the next step of the editing process. You will need to install Adobe Premier Rush on your windows or Apple laptop or desktop. You will also want to install the app on your phone and/or tablet. The following video will walk you through the steps for installing Adobe Premiere Rush.
Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud.
Install the Creative Cloud app.
Open the Creative Cloud app. It is on your desktop.
Install Premiere Rush.
We have provided you with project files to work with as you learn how to use Adobe Premiere Rush. You will need to click on the provided link in order to download the project files. This video will show you how to download your project files.
Create a folder in your documents called "Entry Level Video Editing".
Download the audio and video files.
Save these project files into this folder.
Extract all files from both the audio and video folders.
You can delete the remaining zipped folders after you extracted all of the project files from both folders.
We need media to use in order to learn how to edit. We have provided you with media that you have the rights to use. We need to create a new project and import the media so we can start editing. This video will take you through the steps to importing your media.
Create a new project.
Select the folder you created named "Entry Level Video Editing".
Name the project "Sample Project".
Set the aspect ratio to 16:9.
Make sure your projects are synced to Creative Cloud.
Import the audio and video files. Remove all of them from the sequence.
This video will provide you with a tour of Premiere Rush's interface. You will need to become familiar with the tools you will use to edit your media. We will explore the following in this video:
