English Department Policies

  1. Every student should complete a MINIMUM of 45 minutes per week.
    • Consider doing more time than 45 minutes. Building your vocabulary will help you in all of your studies as well as in life in general.
  2. You should complete sessions on different days, but it is up to you to do 45 minutes.
    • *Note: do NOT wait until the last day to do all 45 minutes - computer/Membean issues are not an excuse to have not completed Membean minutes.
  3. If you finish an assignment/quiz/test early in class, you should work on Membean until the class as a whole is ready to move to the next assignment.
  4. You will NOT receive credit for Dubious minutes.
  5. You will lose credit for an accuracy of less than 65%. Train carefully when you are focused.
  6. You will have a quiz every two weeks on Tuesdays, except for Monday, Oct. 28.
    • If Membean says that you are not ready for the quiz, you will not be able to take it. You will receive a 0 and have to make it up on your own time when you are ready. You will have to show that you have either completed required training or that you improved your accuracy before you are able to take the quiz.

Please make up missed Membean quizzes within ONE week.

Communication Statement

As seniors prepare for college and life after high school, we strongly encourage them to advocate for themselves and speak directly with their teacher about issues or concerns.
