Beginning Band & Instrument Needs

What instruments can I play in 6th grade band?

• Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn Trombone, Percussion

• Once we reach the second semester, students may be asked to try a secondary instrument

How do I get an instrument?

• Instruments can be purchased at Music and Arts through their rent to own program or through your own means. Music and Arts works with WCPSS to facilitate this. 

What materials will I need for beginning band?

• Along with your instrument, students will need to get an Essential Elements method book for their specific instrument and reeds if you play a clarinet or saxophone. A music folder will be provided.
