My name is Kate Dodson. I am the leader of science on this team. This will be my second year at Carroll after many years spent in other Wake County and Onslow County schools.
I attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Kinesiology. I played softball at both universities.
I was born and raised in Raleigh. In fact, my parents still live within walking distance of Carroll in the house in which I grew up. I have a younger sister who recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Also, go Tarheels!
I love to coach and travel. This summer, I honeymooned in Jamaica and in 2017, I went to Norway, Poland, and Sweden. Traveling to Poland afforded me the truly life-changing experience of visiting Auschwitz concentration camp. In 2015, I traveled to Egypt and saw the Nile river, the Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Tombs of the Nobles, the Valley of the Kings, and many other amazing historical sites.
I am looking forward to an exciting year!
