Asking questions before, during, and after you read is a productive strategy. The questions are evidence that you are engaged with the text. There are many types of questions that you can ask. Your questions may be for yourself to answer, for your teacher, or even for another student that you have shared the document with.
Your questions may or may not get answered but the process of asking them is very beneficial. Here is a sample list of question you may ask while reading fiction or nonfiction.
