Welcome to my Website. Check back often as it is a work in progress!!
I am the Instructional Technology Facilitator at both Brassfield Road Year-round School and Charles Bugg School for Design and Computer Sciences, a traditional calendar school. I have been with Wake County Public Schools for two and a half years.
Since leaving a fourth grade classroom in February 2013 I have served in Bladen County as the ITF at both East and West Bladen High Schools as they rolled out 1:1 devices, thanks to the Golden Leaf Foundation. Weekly PD for teachers as they learned to transform their lessons to tech rich curriculum was a great learning experience for both of my faculties but also ME!
From there I went to Carrboro High School in Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools as the ITF. CHS was just beginning to use Google Apps for Education and were going Bring Your Own Device - BYOD. The teachers there were very eager to transform their lessons and great work was accomplished. The Media and Technology Advisory Committee - MTAC was made up of real "Champions"! They helped me lead the staff into great teaching and learning practices. Again, I learned so much.
After a year and a half there I moved to Wake County to be closer to family. When I landed at Brassfield I found a very experienced faculty and staff. My time here is always a happy time sharing what I learn at ITF meetings, conferences and from Twitter!
September of 2016 I added Bugg to my list of schools. With all that has changed there since I joined them, I feel like we all are learning and growing together.
