Born and raised in Escanaba, a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I decided to move to downstate Kalamazoo and attend Western Michigan University for college. I graduated from WMU in 2003 with my Secondary Education degree in Social Studies.
Born and raised in Escanaba, a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I decided to move to downstate Kalamazoo and attend Western Michigan University for college. I graduated from WMU in 2003 with my Secondary Education degree in Social Studies.
After graduation, I moved to Tampa, Florida, and taught Social Studies and AVID to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. During my time in Tampa, I also earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida.

After making several trips to the Raleigh area, my wife Cherie and I decided this would be a great place to raise our family and moved up in 2013. Along with our sons, Cale, Caden, and Cohen, we are very excited and happy to call Mills Park Middle and the Town of Cary 'Home'.

The 2025-26 school year will be my 12th at MPMS and 23rd overall.
