Hi Rex Road Families! My name is Jen Schira and I'm so very excited to be an Royal! This is my 18th year as a school counselor, and my 5 year in Wake county.
I spent my childhood moving often as a member of a military family, but I was able to live in some pretty cool places. My family settled in Poughkeepsie, NY my senior year and I attended college and graduate school in New York at Marist University and The College of Saint Rose. I've called North Carolina home since 2007, when I moved here for my 1st counseling job.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and two children. We also enjoy attending sporting events, going on walks, and spending time with friends! If you see me around, be sure to say hi!
Counselor Vision Statement: The Rex Road Elementary School Counseling program will provide a comprehensive program that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of every learner. In partnership with students, families, and RRES staff, the counselor will strive to make all students feel valued, respected and supported so that they can achieve their unique potential.
