We are so excited to be starting a new school year! Please make sure your child dresses for physical activity on PE and Second Step days, this includes tennis shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or dress shoes please).
This is how we SHINE in PE/Second Step.
Show safe behavior
Have a positive attitude
Include and respect everyone
Never give up
Expect success
Our physical education and second step program is cooperative in nature, success-oriented, and involves all children. It works toward building responsible personal and social behavior in our students. The program provides practice for skill development, opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and social interaction. The PE curriculum is the North Carolina Essential Standards for Physical Education and includes motor skills, movement concepts, health-related fitness, and personal/social responsibility. The Second Step curriculum covers growth mindset, goal setting, problem solving, emotion management, and empathy and kindness. Our goal is to provide your child with the foundation to develop a healthy lifestyle.
