Food Bio-technologist use genetic engineering techniques to create foods with desirable traits, such as resistance to pests. They also use chemistry, microbiology, engineering and other sciences to analyze food content (such as vitamins, fat, sugar, and protein), discovering new food sources, research ways to make processed foods safer and healthier, as well as applying food science knowledge to determine the best ways to process, package, preserve, store and distribute food.
