Policies

Homework:

  • Students will have homework each night. They will get their homework packet on Monday and it is due that Friday.

  • Reading: Students will have to read for 20 min each night and fill out reading log sheet. Parents must sign the reading log each night.

  • Math: Students will get a math sheet each week with problems to solve each night. We will review the homework for that night the next day in class. Students may work ahead.

  • Letterland: Students will be provided word lists with activities to review/complete before assessment.

  • STEM activities will be provided throughout the year. (optional)

Behavior:

Adams Elementary is a PBIS school. Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. With PBIS, we teach kids about behavior, just as we teach about other subjects like reading or math. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.

Communication:

Communication between school and home is very important. I will be using various modes of communication throughout the year. I will send a bi-weekly newsletter home to keep you updated on classroom information and activities. This will also be posted on the dropdown menu of the Home page. I will be using Talking Points to communicate with families and send out instant updates. Please refer to newsletters, website, daily communication folder. Make sure to join Talking Points, Google Classroom, and Seesaw for student work, class photos of activities, and instant updates. Please don't hesitate to email me or message me via Talking Points if you have any questions or concerns.
