We are so excited to work with you this year! See below to learn more about each of us!
I love being a member of the Barton Pond community! This is my third year here at Barton Pond Elementary. This year I will be both the 2nd and 3rd grade coach. This is my 18th year as an educator. I have taught first, second, and third grade in the classroom. I have also taught 3-5th AIG and 3-5th grade intervention. This is my 6th year teaching AIG & Intervention. I am also the school testing coordinator.
I am originally from Long Island New York but I have been in North Carolina for 19 years. I taught in Durham County and then Wake County. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY Cortland in New York, my Masters Degree in Birth through 2nd grade special education from St. Joseph’s College in New York. I am Nationally Board Certified in literacy and AIG certified.
I enjoy reading, spending time at the beach and the lake, being with friends, and spending time with my wonderful family. I have twin boys who are seniors in high school and I have a second grader at Barton Pond! I hope you have enjoyed learning a little about me and I am very excited to get to know all of you!
I am passionate about inspiring students love of reading. I strive for each student I encounter to have a love of books and learning to last them a lifetime. I am passionate about students loving school! I come to school everyday excited to try new things that will build students enthusiasm for their learning and hope to inspire them to feel the same way. I love to see students try new things, find and pursue their own passions!!

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Barton Pond Elementary School family! I have been an educator with Wake county since 1998, including 6 years in AIG.
I grew up in Asheville, NC where I developed a love for the mountains and nature. Coming from a family of educators, I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age. After graduating high school, I was honored with the NC Teaching Fellows scholarship and moved to Raleigh to attend Meredith College.
After graduating college with a degree in mathematics, I stayed in Raleigh and started teaching in Wake County. I have taught in traditional, year-round and magnet schools and am constantly blown away at the amazing opportunities we have here in Wake County.
I have a wonderful husband and 2 amazing daughters, one in 11th grade at a Wake county public school (Go Eags!) and one a Sophomore at Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!).
I am so excited to become a Bullfrog and look forward to a challenging year of learning opportunities.
