A graduate of Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism; I also completed my education courses and receive my teacher's licenses while attending McMurry University. 

Before becoming a teacher, I was a television producer, reporter and anchor. This is my fifteenth year as a teacher. I have previously taught sixth and eighth grade social studies.

Our family has three children and I have been married for 21 years. We also  have two cats. We spend our weekends hiking, playing board and card games as well as reading, quilting, building Legos and other nerdy pursuits.
