Background and History
The Health Science Career Academy (HSCA) is a personalized, four-year small learning community within Athens Drive Magnet High School. Students are cohorted in their English I and English II Honors classes and complete four courses within their selected health science pathway, along with a 120-hour work-based internship. In addition to Academy requirements, students may take other elective and core classes outside the Academy and are encouraged to participate in clubs and sports. Since 1990, the HSCA has been an integral part of the Athens Drive curriculum.
