Hello Jags,
I hope everyone is doing well this week. We're almost done for the year!!! I know that there hasn't been a lot to get excited about, but you've all done a fantastic job handling remote learning and we can officially celebrate your hard work in a couple of weeks.
The first thing I need to say to everyone is please make sure that you check your grades out in Power School. You will then need to complete the Athens Drive 2020 Grade Selection Form as soon as possible. If you have and questions regarding the grade selection form or process, please visit me during office hours (M-F from 1:00-2).
As far as culinary class, I would like to focus on cookies. We had a cookies unit coming up for the 4th quarter, but things happen. I always plan my cookie unit near the end of the year (because it's easier to budget for) so the timing of this unit remains the same.
Most of us this about cookie season as the time around the December holidays, but cookies are a great all season addition to any gathering, picnic or tailgate party. Nothing beats a nice chocolate chip cookie after a meal of grilled meats and vegetables.
This week, I would like to see you in the kitchen baking some of your favorite cookies. With so many different varieties, having the all of the ingredients shouldn't be a huge problem. I have included a review Power Point for cookies that you might want to go over for some basic tips and guidelines. After you have reviewed the Power Point, select a recipe (I have included a few favorite of my recipes). Next get in the kitchen and start baking.
Make sure to take plenty of pictures, as I would like for you to post a photo and write a description of your experience on a Dot Storming board listed below:
