Q&A from Open House:

How do we join clubs?  Clubs will be discussed at the start of the school year and will not begin until late August/early Septmeber. There will be sign-ups for clubs once they are all planned out.

Is RIdge Time availble for students with IEPs? Ridge time is school-wide for all students.

How to join the math count club?  Club information will be given out during the first couple of months of school. There will be sign-ups for clubs once they are proposed and developed. 

How and when can i submit track change request? This is one through Wake County Central Office -  https://www.wcpss.net/Page/33755 

What is the teacher to student ratio? We try to keep class sixes under 35 students.  

What security/lockdown measures does the school have in place? We practice lockdown drills, we have an on campus SRO, and we have a team of Administration, SRO, Student Support Services, and front office staff that review and update crisis plans. 

Are people buzzed into the school? Yes, all visitors are buzzed in through the front. 

Are outside doors locked during school hours? Yes, all doors are locked. 

How many elective can be taken in a year ? 7th and 8th graders take 2 electives, one each semester, and 6th graders take 4, one each quarter. Band is year-long elective choice.

Registration

Registration process will be handled by the elementary school. All questions about registration should be directed to your Elementary School Counselor.

Students will only be registering for their 6th grade elective courses. Students will automatically be enrolled in English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Health/PE. 


For information about middle school math placement, course sequences, and math waivers please click the button below. Parents who wish to request a math placement change for their child, must submit the completed Placement Waiver Form to their elementary school.

To the right you will find 6th grade elective courses for the current school year. Course offerings for next school year are being determined by administration and will be updated here as soon as they are finalized.

Your elementary school will support your child in entering their selections in PowerSchool. 

Students will register for their electives based on their assigned track for the 2024-25 school year. If you do not know your track assignment, please check with your elementary school. If you have not been assigned a track or are on a traditional calendar currently, please choose the no-track option
