According to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), "School counselors design and deliver comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student achievement. These programs are comprehensive in scope, preventive in design and developmental in nature." The counseling program at Apex Middle School is a collaborative effort between the school counselors, school psychologist, school social worker, school nurse, data manager, student services receptionist, teachers, administrators, parents and the community to promote student achievement and success.

Our Vision

The vision of the Apex Middle School counseling program is to provide a comprehensive and developmental program that will encourage and support students in the development of their social, emotional and academic life goals in order to make students valuable contributors to a global community.


Our Beliefs

We believe all students can succeed with the proper support. We believe a strong home-school relationship is important for all students. We believe all student developmental needs are best met by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. We believe school counselors should be leaders and strong advocates for all students. We believe our school counseling program should be inclusive and collaborative with all stakeholders in order to meet the needs of all of our students. We believe the decisions we make within our school counseling program should be data driven. We believe school counselors should uphold the ASCA ethical standards at all times in order to promote the maximum development of every student.


Our Mission

Apex Middle School counselors will provide a proactive, comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program in order to address the academic, career and personal/social needs of all students. We embrace a growth mindset and encourage the highest level of achievement for all. We will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support students as they become effective communicators and critical thinkers. We will continue to work to do what is best for students as we advocate for equity, access and success for every students.
