Bio: Coach Fronk graduated from Apex High School in 2009, where he played Split End receiver. He spent a PG year at Hargrave Military Academy, and was a walk on with NC State Football during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
He was the Special Teams coordinator at Apex Friendship High School for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
From 2019 - 2021 seasons he served as the JV Head Coach, JV OC, and Receivers Coach at Apex High School.
From the 2022 - 2024 seasons he served as the Varsity OC and Receivers Coach at Apex High School.
He was announced Head Coach of the program in January of 2025.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Bio: Coach Restino was a multi-sport athlete at Riverbend High School in Fredericksburg, VA. He would later go on to play on the Offensive Line at Shippensburg University from 2008-2013.
Coach Restino has been on Apex's staff since the 2019 season. He served as Coach Fronk's O-Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator on the JV level from 2019 - 2021, and then took over the same role on the Varsity level from 2022 - Present. His vast knowledge of the run game and box play makes him a crucial piece of the staff.
SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR / RUNNING BACKS
Bio: Coach Sneed graduated from Apex High School in 2010. He was a multi sport athlete there playing both Football (Linebacker) and Lacrosse. He went on to play collegiate Lacrosse at High Point University earning many accolades during his time there.
Coach Sneed has been coaching both Lacrosse and Football on and off since the 2017-2018 year. He joined the Football staff at Apex in the Spring of 2025 where he has served as the Running Backs Coach and the Special Teams Coordinator.
RECEIVERS
JV OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Bio: Coach Gresch graduated from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Ohio in 2011 where he was a 3 sport athlete (Baseball, Football, Basketball). He would go on to play Baseball at the collegiate level at Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio from 2011-2016.
Coach Gresch brings with him coaching experience from his time at Lee County and Wakefield High Schools. He joined the Apex Football staff in the Spring of 2025 where he has served as Receivers Coach.
ASSISTANT QB COACH
OFFENSIVE ANALYST
Coach Wolfe brings decades of high school coaching experience across North Carolina, including head coaching roles at Apex, Kinston, Laney, and assistant positions at Enloe and Goldsboro.
He is best known for building Apex High School into a winning program, leading the team to over 100 victories, multiple conference titles, and consistent playoff appearances.
Coach Wolfe adds a wealth of experience and proven program-building leadership to our staff.
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR / INSIDE LINEBACKERS
Bio: Coach Thomas graduated from Apex High School in 2006, where he played on the Defensive side of the ball. Coach Thomas has over 15 years of coaching experience that he brings to Apex High School.
This is his 2nd stint coaching at Apex. In the early 2010s he served as Linebackers coach as well as JV DC here. He eventually moved on to Green Hope High School where he served as their Varsity Defensive Coordinator. He has also spent time at Rolesville High School under the same title. Coach Thomas rejoined Apex High School in the Fall of 2023 as the Linebacker coach, and was named the Defensive Coordinator for the 2025 season.
DEFENSIVE LINE
Bio: Coach Blalock was a player on the defensive line for Appalachian State from 2000-2003, playing in every game during his final 3 years. He would later go on to become a member of ASU's coaching staff from 2004-2006. He would later go on to be the DLine coach at Newberry college from 2007-2008. He would then return back to ASU for another 4 seasons before joining the North Carolina Central staff as their DLine coach during their 2014 campaign.
Coach Blalock now resides in the Apex area and was hired as the DLine coach for Apex High School in the Spring of 2025
CORNERS
JV DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Coach Campbell is an experienced football coach and educator with over a decade of developing student-athletes and building competitive programs. A graduate of North Carolina Central University with a degree in Physical Education, he has served in multiple roles at Person High School, including Defensive Backs Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and JV Head Coach, helping produce several All-Conference players.
Coach Campbell most recently coached at East Wake High School and is joining the Apex football staff as of Spring 2026. In addition to football, Coach Campbell has also coached basketball and track & field, bringing a well-rounded, multi-sport perspective to his coaching.
SAFETIES
Coach Thomas is a seasoned high school football coach in North Carolina with deep roots in the Apex community. Thomas served for many years as Defensive Coordinator for the Apex High School Cougars football program, building disciplined, fundamentally strong defenses and mentoring generations of student‑athletes during the early 2000s.
After time coaching at other programs in the area, including a stint coaching defensive backs at Green Hope High School, Thomas returned to Apex High School in 2025, rejoining the Cougars’ staff and bringing his extensive experience and leadership back to the sidelines. Known for his commitment to player development, strong work ethic, and passion for the game, Thomas continues to contribute to Apex football both on the field and in the lives of his players.
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS
Britt Morton joins the staff as Outside Linebackers Coach, bringing a deep connection to Apex High School and a well-rounded coaching background. A former head football coach at Apex from 2018–2021, Morton has extensive experience leading and developing student-athletes across multiple sports. He currently serves as the school’s men’s and women’s wrestling coach and oversees the weight room, playing a key role in building strength, discipline, and overall athletic performance across programs.
An Apex alumnus, Morton graduated in the early 1990s before continuing his playing career at Methodist University. This marks his fourth stint coaching at Apex, and he has also coached both football and wrestling at several other high schools, including Sanderson High School, programs in Georgia, and in the New Bern area. Known for his energy, toughness, and attention to fundamentals, he is committed to developing a physical, disciplined, and relentless group of outside linebackers.
