Hello! I am Hannah Wilson and have always been a teacher at heart. I began teaching in 2004 and each year I grow more in love with this profession. I am excited to extend my love of teaching into a different role as I begin my new career as an elementary school media coordinator.
Since Kindergarten I knew I wanted to teach. My teacher at the time, Mrs. Chapel, was my idol (and still is). I remember watching her closely. I could see the love for teaching and for her students radiating from her. She inspired me to be better and learn more. I wanted to be like her. My hope each year is that I too would inspire my students to be lifelong learners and that they would know that "Mrs. Wilson truly cares about me."
Libraries have also always been an important part of my life. I have very fond memories of my experiences using the library in elementary school and I believe it created a lifelong love for reading and learning. Even now, I enjoy visiting the library. I love browsing the shelves and discovering new and old favorites. I am beyond thrilled to work in a school library.
I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and attended Wake County public schools. I then graduated from Peace College and later completed graduate school online at UNC Greensboro.
I am a serious animal lover.
I would have a farm full of animals if I could. Here's my animal family...at least for now.
She is full of energy. She runs or leaps wherever she goes. Squeaky toys and belly rubs are her favorite. Mollie loves to snuggle close at night and wake everyone with kisses. When she is really relaxed, she likes to stick out her tongue while sleeping.
We rescued him from the side of the road and looks almost identical to one of my previous dogs. He is so gentle and sweet. Unfortunately, he is scared of almost everything. He spends most of his time hiding under our bed. I love how he has a heart on the top of his head.
She is a miniature horse and is always looking to see if you have a treat in your pocket. She can't refuse a good neck scratch right under her mane.
Our donkey loves a good hug around the neck. He loves to bray to tell when it is meal time (he always seems to be hungry), announce visitors, or just to say hello.
We have several chickens. They give us endless hours of entertainment. We enjoy collecting fresh eggs daily.
I love to be creative and craft. It is fun to find new craft ideas and see how I can make it my own. I have way too many crafting supplies.
Also my husband, two daughters, and I love to be outdoors. We enjoy hiking together and kayaking. Lately we have been trying to visit as many NC State Parks as possible.
