AIG Nominations
Who can be nominated?
Any student can be nominated
When?
Nominations are accepted all year.
A nomination does not guarantee that a student will go through the AIG evaluation process. Our School Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBCGE) examines data to determine if a student will be referred for evaluation.
All Third grade students are universally screened for AIG in the fall. Since all third graders are automatically considered for AIG, they do not need to be nominated.
Fourth and Fifth graders who are referred for the AIG evaluation process may take the CogAT and Iowa testing during two testing windows, typically in October and January.
AIG Identification can occur throughout the school year using the portfolio process and multiple points of data (no additional testing required).
How?
To nominate a 4th or 5th grader, please complete the AIG Nomination form during the fall or winter nomination window so that they may be considered for fall or winter testing. The 2023-24 Fall window was September 18-29, 2023. The 2023-24 Winter window was December 6-20, 2023. To nominate a 4th or 5th graders outside of a nomination window, please contact Ann Poisson.
