To help with iready testing, please have your student bring in a pair of headphones!

If extra shirts are available, staff will provide students with shirts as needed. If not, students will be provide a white mask to tie dye.

Please note that there are items on the supply lists that will need to be replenished throughout the year. Also, any donations of additional supplies for students can be sent in to student's homeroom teachers. As always, any and all donations of items are welcomed and deeply appreciated!

Weekly Updates

Week five propelled us into the final days of camp with students. Along with some engaging labs and lessons, students have been working hard to complete iReady lessons specific to their needs to ensure their success next year and beyond! We are so proud of all students as they persevere through their learning. Students will "show what they know" in week six with iReady testing in Reading and Math.

All students C.H.A.R.G.E.d into our last and final competition of Staff vs. Students General Knowledge Trivia! Students competed hard and challenged their knowledge of animals, science, reading, and so much more in an intense game of Kahoot! Staff may have won the Kahoot! but CONGRATULATIONS TO STUDENTS ON THEIR OVERALL WIN AGAINST THE STAFF!

  • Wednesday and Thursday, students will watch the movie Luca. They will connect it to the ELA Standards covered this summer.

6th Grade Science

"Why should I be concerned about Juan De Fuca?"

During week 5 and 6 we will be looking at the layers of the Earth, Plate tectonics, & the land beneath our feet.

7th Grade Science

"How does understanding Earth's atmosphere help us decide whether we should care about weather?"

During week 5 and 6 we will explore the properties of our atmosphere and phenomenons in weather, like how does hail fall on a summer day.

8th Grade Science

"How does modifying life help scientist solve the world's problems, like pandemics?"

During week 5 and 6 we will explore biotechnology and how it can be used to help fight diseases.

Math 6

Unit 2: Number System

7/19 - 7/23

Our unit of study will be working with Fractions. Students will review Adding, Subtracting and Multiplying Fractions and then work extensively with dividing fractions.


We will also be working on basic math facts everyday. Please practice these with your child every day.

Math 7

Unit 2: Number Sense

7/19 - 7/23

We will explore how to work with Fractions, Decimals and Integers. Integers is a difficult concept for students. Please be encouraging them to practice positive and negative numbers in everyday life.

Math 8

Unit

Students will continue their exploration of ratios, and investigate how ratios and proportions are related to writing and solving equations.

Our focus moving forward will be relating ratios to proportional relationships through graphs & equations.


We will complete our understanding of proportional relationships and then demonstrate our mastery of numbers.

Math I/II

Unit 2: Expressions and Equations

Number Sense

7/19 - 7/23

We will show our mastery of all things numbers: fractions, decimals, integers as they apply to Systems of Equations, Rules of Exponents and Simplifying Expressions.

WEEK 6: Come in ready Monday to tie dye shirts! We'll go through the multiple patterns you may choose from. Students should plan on wearing their shirts on Thursday, July 29th.

Next week slime and coke/mentos explosions will also be on our lists. Come in fresh and ready to have some fun!......

Forward to Week 6

For our last week together, we will continue to work on IEP goals and practice concepts from this past year. We will continue to work on skills in reading, writing, and mathematics to prepare students for the 2021-2022 school year.
