Talent Development Guidelines
The Talent Development Program is designed to give high-achieving students opportunities to grow and strengthen gifted characteristics.
Through ongoing data collection and analysis, we work intentionally to recognize and nurture the potential of students who demonstrate strong academic abilities but whose gifted traits may not yet be fully evident.
Who Are Talent Development Students?
Talent Development students have participated in the 3D Process for AIG identification and have data that supports referral for services. These students need enrichment and challenge. They are often close to qualifying for AIG but may not meet criteria based on a single data point, such as standardized testing.
How Talent Development Students Are Served:
Placed in an AIG cluster in core Language Arts classes
Provided with extensions during independent work in Math/ELA or through schoolwide enrichment/remediation blocks (via Canvas course)
Supported through regular collaboration between the AIG teacher and classroom teachers to meet additional instructional needs
Engaged in flexible grouping opportunities
