Books to Go

The Salem Elementary School Library is excited to announce a new Books to Go curbside library service beginning on Wednesday, September 9th!

Schedule: Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

About Salem Elementary Library's Books to Go:

• Every student may place a hold on up to 5 library books using the online catalog Destiny Discover. Please watch the first video tutorial below on how to do this. **Students, please make sure you have discussed this with your family before placing holds on books.**

• All holds for available books placed by Tuesday afternoons at 5 p.m. will be checked out to students on Wednesday mornings and ready for curbside pickup in the carpool lane at Salem Elementary between 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure that the books are checked out to your student's account before coming to the school. The second video below shows you how to view this information.

• When coming through the carpool line to pick up your student's books, please be ready to give the name of the student (it would be helpful if you write it in large letters on a piece of paper) and the library books will be handed to you in the car in a paper bag. Please remember that face coverings are required on all WCPSS campuses and social distancing guidelines are in place. Thank you for your help in keeping our school community safe and healthy!

• Books are loaned for a 3 week period and any books that are not picked up on Wednesday will be held for one week until the following pickup day. If a book is not picked up within 2 weeks, it will be checked back into the library.

• Books can also be returned to the Salem Elementary Library using this curbside service. Please place all books in a bag before returning.

• School library lessons for Grades 1-3 will be asynchronous on Wednesdays beginning on September 9th so that Mrs. Fox can run the curbside library. Students will be reminded of this on Tuesdays and their work on Wednesdays will be in the Specials Google Classroom under the Library/Media tab in Classwork.
