Attention, 8th Graders! This year, we have an opportunity to dive into North Carolina history as part of the bigger picture of American History. While we do need to learn names and dates, that will not be our focus, because that can be pretty intimidating and, let's face it, boring. Instead, we're going to explore the exciting and relevant world of studying the history that those names and dates represent. By examining the triumphs and blunders of the past, we can gain valuable lessons for the present and future. We'll discover where we fit in the grand scheme of things, both as individuals and as a community, in today's world that will soon become tomorrow's history. How will we accomplish this? By connecting the historical events of the whole world with the those of the United States with those of North Carolina.
