Grading
Grades will come from tests (50%), quizzes (30%), and classwork (20%). Students who are taking Math 1 will also have their EOC test score count as 20% of their final average for the year.
Major Assessments/Tests: There will be two or three tests given each nine weeks, depending on the quarter. Students will be notified at least a week in advance. Students need to review their notes on a daily basis and complete classwork/homework to make sure they are prepared for the tests. Students are able to retake unit tests. Retest scores will be averaged with original scores.
Classwork/Homework: Students will have classwork every day and if they do not complete it in class, then they need to complete it at home. These assignments will cover the material we studied that day in class or review. We will go over the classwork in class to ensure students’ understanding. It is important that students complete every assignment. The more practice students have on a concept, the better they will do on quizzes and tests.
Students should expect at least one assignment every week in Delta Math. The assignments in Delta Math will be either reviewing a concept from previous weeks or practice of current work. Delta Math assignments are a Classwork Grade. Incomplete Delta Math assignments can result in students coming back at lunch to complete them.
If a student is absent
If a student is absent, please check the Agenda and Canvas to see what was completed in class and the classwork for that day.
If a student completes late work
If a student is completes a Delta Math assignment after the grade has already been entered, they will need to email Ms. Zulick with the name of the assignment so she can check and update their score.
