2025/2026
Hello,
My name is Jennifer Ames. I have been teaching for 20 years and have called North Carolina home since 2007.
I am a firm believer of students advocating for themselves. As we begin working together - I expect 7th grade students to be proactive. Students should ask questions, clarify and seek out help when needed.
Parents, please encourage your son or daughter to take ownership in their education. We are a partnership, but the student is ultimately responsible for monitoring and completing all classwork. They are young adults in the midst of their middle school career. They are just two short years away from high school.
Students, dedicating the time to complete the work and managing your time are necessary skills and your parents and I are here to support you and help you be successful. You must carve out time for yourself and your academics.
The website will be updated periodically, however Canvas will be the primary source for our daily assignments and agenda.
The calendar tab at the top of the main page is a great resource for both parents and students. Please bookmark it and use it often.
Please reach out if you have any questions and/or concerns.
E-mail communication and Talking Points is often the easiest way to contact me, but feel free to call if needed. James2@wcpss.net or (919) 567-4177
Looking forward to a great year with you!
Mrs. Ames
