I was born and raised in the Town of Rotterdam in Upstate NY (near Albany) and moved to NC in June 2008. My wife and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on July 16th and have raised two sons, one who recently got engaged and the other who is a US Marine stationed in Washington, DC. We also have two crazy cats and my father-in-law living in our home, so some days it feels like we actually have five kids instead of two! I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a minor in History, and a concentration in Math. In addition, I have my master’s degree in Reading from SUNY Albany and am licensed in both NY and NC to teach Nursery School and Pre-K up to 6th Grade in all subject areas and Grades 7-9 Math. I began my career at the elementary school level in the Schenectady City School District where I taught for 10 years before moving down south. Here in NC, I taught 2nd and 5th Grades at Knightdale Elementary School and Lake Myra Elementary School for five years before coming to RMS in 2013 to teach 6th Grade Math and Science on Track 2. I switched to 7th Grade Math a few years ago, but now I’ve come back “home” to 6th Grade. In my free time I enjoy bowling, watching Yankees baseball, reading and beating my sons at chess.
