I started an after school robotics club. I was a bit nervous being that my knowledge of robotics was limited. The only experience I had was with my son being involve with several robotics programs over the years. I made an announcement to see who would be interested and many students responded including parents who were willing to volunteer. One of the parents had experience in running a robotics club, my first thought was, "JACKPOT!!!!!!" I immediately got in contact with her and we got the ball rolling. I also contacted my son's robotics team coach who is part of the FIRST Robotics and we started collaborating on how robotics and math coincide. I sent some of my "Flipping the Classroom" videos and few emails to the team explaining transformations. The team created a teaching video on how there is math in robotics. The team also took the time to come out and show my robotics club their robot which was used in the national championship from the previous year.
Cortechs Robotics was instrumental in inspiring me and other students to create a robotics club, now soon to be competitive team! This club meets after school once week for 90 minutes after school.
