Other PD Opportunities

WCPS offers a variety of opportunities for staff to earn DLC credits. These include face-to-face, online and hybrid options. Also, make plans to attend the Winter Wild about DLCs mini-conference being offered. The tentative date is January 13, 2020. More information to come!

The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teachers offers fabulous online courses. I have personally taken these courses and learned some great information. I highly recommend them if you are looking for quality, self-paced professional development.

DPI offers free, self-paced professional development courses through NCEES. You will see a professional development tab when you log in and can search the courses there.

Adobe free online courses for educators through the Education Exchange. The only downfall is that some of these courses require Adobe programs that cost money (they offer a free trial for 7 days). Do your research before diving into a course.

Google offers various certifications for educators in the teacher center. You are provided with training and practice materials to prepare for the certification tests. Level 1 and 2 Certifications are good for 3 years. It does cost money to take the Certification exams. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

EdPuzzle has created online PD courses for teachers. To complete these courses, you will be given a code and asked to sign in to EdPuzzle as a student. The code will allow you to join the course. Once you watch all the video and complete the tasks included, you will earn a certificate and EdPuzzle badge. Send me a copy of the certificate and I'll make sure you get your DLC CEUs.

Flip has also developed online certification courses for educators. They offer Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 certifications. Each certification has different requirements. Scroll to the last topic on the linked page for information about the certifications.
