Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will I get my schedule of classes?

A: WCPS typically posts student schedules in StudentVue/ParentVue the second week of August.

Q: Can I do Work Release as a 10th/11th grader?

A: No.  Only 12th graders can be released from school for work (CRD or Ag Co-op).  11th graders accepted to an Apprenticeship program may be released for that specific program.

Q: Can I graduate early?

A: Early graduation is approved in some unique circumstances.  Talk directly to your counselor about this process if you're interested.

Q: If I still need to take a class that requires a state assessment (Algebra 1/Geometry, Biology, Government, English 10), may I still take all my classes at HCC next year as a Junior?

A: No, HCC cannot offer the class/coursework and support for a student who needs one of these classes; however, you could take the assessed course here at BHS and then take other courses at HCC.  It is absolutely vital to work with your counselor to select coursework.

Q: Will all my HCC credits transfer to the university I want to go to?

A: What credits transfer and how they transfer will vary from institution to institution. Students should consult with the university admission office where they want to attend to discover how credits will transfer.
