The Student Voice is a student podcast project. Students create a 15-30 minute podcast on the topic of their choice.
Click on any of the podcast files to hear the student created radio programs. In most cases these podcasts were played on Community Radio CKMS 102.7FM Radio Waterloo.
Steps for Success:
1) Think of a theme for your show that includes one of the topics we discussed in this course. You can do your podcast about anything from social justice to environmental stewardship, global citizenship to artificial intelligence, mental health to student life, post COVID situations, wellness playlists etc.
2) Create a script. It can be word for word or just point form.
You should try NOT to timestamp your podcast by saying the date. Instead focus your dialogue on the topic that you are featuring. If your podcast is about a particular event discussing the event date is fine without reference to the current date. This allows your podcast to not be timestamped. It could sound new to a new listener.
3) Arrange a time to connect with your group and record. (you may also work as an individual)
4) Import & Edit your podcast using audition or audacity (free option - or any other software). Or record a live podcast using Mixx
5) Export and Submit your edited podcast as a .mp3 file
EXTENSION: A good radio podcast needs a great Image/logo to draw people into listening.
