My name is Coach Guy and this is my 8th year at Mira Vista, 14th year overall. I look forward to providing an online avenue for the students to exercise. Weekly work out logs will be due on Fridays in Google Classroom.

6th Grade English & History

Ni hao! My name is Ms. “Chen”derson, and this is my 20^th year of teaching 6^th grade! I started my schooling in Taiwan, and then immigrated to the U.S. when I was in the 3^rd grade. My first lesson in the U.S. was learning to bob for apples which I thought was gross and silly. I grew up in Southern California, and moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). I now live in Oakland with a fun-loving family of critters: three demanding cats, two goofy dogs, and a clever husband who can fix just about anything.

My name is Ms. Phan. I was born in Laos and came to the United States at the age of 7. I grew up in Richmond, California and attended Lincoln, Montalvin Elementary, Downer, Helms, Kennedy and Richmond High School. I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Human Development. This is my 24th year as a teacher and 11th year as a Mira Vista 6th grade teacher. I currently live in San Pablo with my husband, daughter, and dog, Coco.

Greetings, my name is Brett Lackey.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I've lived in Richmond for the last 19 years and I've taught in the East Bay for the last 13 years. I love teaching middle school, and seventh grade in particular. I am passionate about integrating useful technology into my curriculum; I have mentored and coached FIRST Lego League teams; and am the founder and teacher of the MV STEAM after-school program entering its eighth year. I live very nearby the school with my wife, two kids, dogs and myriad other critters.

This will be my 11th year at Mira Vista, and 15th year teaching overall. I teach 8th grade Math and English and look forward to meeting the challenges that this year will bring. Although we will be starting the year with distance learning, we will continue to do our best to prepare your child, both academically and socially for high school next year.
