Period9 Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Class - Starts Nov 4!!
Who: High Schoolers in WCCUSD who are serious about entering the union construction trades (all genders encouraged to sign up!!)
When: Wednesdays & Fridays, 4-6pm
Duration: November 4, 2026 - June 4, 2027
What: MC3 Pre- Apprenticeship: The Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) is a comprehensive pre-apprenticeship training curriculum. (Info here) approved by the Building Trades National Apprenticeship and Training Committee. It is a 120 hour course that offers construction math, blueprint reading, safety training, and hands-on exposure to more than 16 different trades.

KP LAUNCH
Interns are provided with work experience that expose them to administrative and supporting careers in health care environments. Interns will not participate in medical treatment or procedures for patients or members during this internship.
About The Experience
A seven-week paid summer work experience, earning the hourly wage of $25 per hour for healthcare workers
Weekly workshops designed to give participants valuable personal and professional skills development
A unique relationship with supervisors and mentors to gain insight on how to prepare for a career in health care
Networking opportunities with peers and senior leaders through work-based activities, community service projects, or social events

The MIMS Summer Internship Program is a five-week immersive program where students have the opportunity to receive hands-on clinical training, shadow health professionals in a variety of patient care settings as well as develop their leadership skills through professional development workshops.
Eligbility
Be at least a 10th grader in high school, a high school graduate, an undergraduate or postgraduate student, or a recent graduate
Have an interest in pursuing a career in health
Be available to participate full-time for the duration of the 4-week program
No minimum GPA requirement
Program Benefits
Shadowing in health fields such as emergency medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, internal medicine, public health, nursing and/or physician assistant, and dentistry (depending on availability)
Hands-on clinical training including splinting, suturing, phlebotomy, and EKG training
5 health certifications including CPR/AED, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Bloodborne Pathogens
Professional development workshops such as resume building, effective networking, and interviewing
One-on-one career advising
Life coaching sessions and team-building activities
Civic service opportunities and field trips to health institutions (depending on availability & Covid-19 updates)
Near-peer mentorship opportunities
Paid stipend (based on financial need)
