Beginning Band
Class overview
Beginning Band at DeJean Middle School includes beginning and intermediate music students. Three sections of the course will meet during 2nd, 3rd, 4th periods. Beginning Band students will learn foundations of music with recorder before choosing an instrument to learn, then will focus on preparing concert art music in the classical, modern, and march styles.

Hello everyone!
My name is Rebecca d’Alessio (Duh-less-ee-oh https://www.howtopronounce.com/dalessio). Students call me Ms. d'Alessio (or Dr. d'Alessio 😎). I am so happy to teach band at Lovonya DeJean Middle School 😍. I earned my Bachelor of Music Education and Clarinet Performance at Bradley University before completing my graduate studies at Arizona State University (M.M., D.M.A.). I served as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay from 2002-2006 before moving back to my home state of California. I have performed and presented master classes in many states as well as in China and Turkey. I live in San Rafael with my husband and 9-year-old son.

Enseño banda en la escuela secundaria Lovonya DeJean en Richmond 😍. Obtuve mi Bachelor of Music Education y Clarinet Performance en Bradley University antes de completar mis estudios de posgrado en Arizona State University (M.M., D.M.A.). Fui profesor asistente de música en la Universidad de Wisconsin-Green Bay entre 2002 y 2006 antes de regresar a mi estado natal de California.
