Home > Staff > School Hardware > Photocopiers > Secure Printing
To use secure printing on the photocopiers, please follow the steps below:
Open the document you wish to secure print with and click the print button. When the print dialogue box opens select 'Staff Copiers' from the dropdown box and click the Printer Properties.
2. On the Printer Properties window under Job Type select "Secure Print" from the dropdown box, and then click the Setup button.
3. In the setup window under the User ID field enter a name (this is only a descriptor field, which means you can enter any name you wish, however it's recommended to pick a name that easily identifies you).
Once you have inputted a User ID, in the Secure Print Passcode field enter a passcode using numbers. Note: If you do not enter a passcode anyone can view the file.
Optional: Under the job name heading you can choose to use the existing file name or you can change the file name to something more secure.
5. Once everything is correct and you have set a User ID and a password, click OK, then click OK on the print properties window and then click 'Print'.
6. On the Copier, log into Papercut with your staff ID then release the job as you would for any normal print job. After releasing the job press the home button (centre right of the control panel) and then touch the "Job Status" icon.
7. On the Job Status screen in the bottom right-hand corner touch the "Secure Print Jobs & More" button, then select the option "Secure Print...".
8. Choose the option from the the list of user IDs matching the name you entered in step 3, and then touch the "Job List..." button in the bottom right corner.
9. Enter the passcode you set in step 3. You will now be presented with a list of documents, touch on the document name you wish to release, and then touch Print. You can also touch the "Preview..." button you see an image of the document prior to releasing.
Note: A screen will appear that will ask you if you would like to keep or delete the document. It is recommended to select delete, otherwise, the document will be saved in the copier's memory until it's removed.
