In order to connect your personal device to WCCS WiFi you will first need to on-board it by visiting https://byod.willcarey.nsw.edu.au/ from the device itself and following through the process as detailed on the ICT Help Blog. As you will need an existing internet connection, this should be done at home before coming in to school or alternatively using a hotspot from your mobile phone. Once the onboarding process is complete, your device will be able to connect to the WCCS BYOD network which is designated for both Staff and Student BYOD devices.
It is possible to link your timetable from Edumate to your iOS device such as iPad or iPhone. To connect a subscribed calendar in iOS:
From the home screen, open the settings app, scroll down the list on the left side and touch the “Calendar” item, then tap “Add Account” on the right hand side of the screen.
On the “Add Account” screen, tap the “Other” option located at the bottom, then select “Add Subscribed Calendar”.
A box will now appear asking you to enter the server name for the calendar you wish to subscribe to. The URL you enter will determine which calendar you are subscribing to. You can subscribe to multiple calendars by simply repeating the process and entering a different URL. Following is the list of calendars and the URL you need to enter for that calendar:
Master Calendar – All events and assessments:
https://edumate.willcarey.nsw.edu.au/willcarey4/cal.php/master
School Calendar – All events that are flagged for publishing:
https://edumate.willcarey.nsw.edu.au/willcarey4/cal.php/school
Personal Calendar – For staff, this will show you your own timetable plus any appointments entered into Edumate, and for students, both your timetable, and assessment tasks will be listed. This URL requires you to use your own username to the end of the rest of the address. So you would replace the italicised username text with your actual Edumate username.
https://edumate.willcarey.nsw.edu.au/willcarey4/cal.php/calendar/username
Once you’ve entered this URL, tap the “Next” button and you will be prompted to enter your credentials. For your username, you must use your email address as entered in Edumate. Your password is the same password used for network and Edumate login. It’s probably also a good idea to enable the option “Remove Alarms” so that you won’t receive an alert for every event. Tap the “Next” button when finished, and you will receive a confirmation screen. You can change the description field here to something more description, which is particularly useful if you are subscribing to multiple calendars. Finally press the “Save” button.
You can now return to the home screen and open your calendar app and see the new events listed.
