Edumate is our school database system for teachers, students and parents. The link to Edumate can be found on the Staff Portal under quick links.
Edumate provides several features you may use daily, such as roll marking, staff covers and absences, calendars and timetables, awards and disciplines, and grading. For more specific information on these features, please consult your department head.
Below is a screenshot of the Edumate homepage. Selecting the classic menu (top left on the left white sidebar) will provide you access to all of Edumate's features. The homepage will automatically display staff absences and covers, room changes and news feed.
The Diary tab will show a teacher what lessons and activities they have scheduled for the day.
You can also view your personal calendar (My Diary), the school calendar and master calendar form this menu.
For teachers this is the quickest and most direct way to interact with a number of areas of Edumate. Marking the roll, emailing students and parents, viewing their daily or weekly timetable and getting directly to markbook are all done with one click directly from this screen.
The icons you see in the personal calendar and lesson plan screens are the same as in the blue sidebar menu (lesson plan, mark roll, markbook, email teacher and parents)
The Mark Roll option is where teachers can record attendance for the period in question.
To access this screen, select "Classic" in the top left corner of Edumate and then "Attendance" and "Mark Roll". You then need to select the date, Period (e.g. Pastoral Care) and Class (e.g. Pastoral Care Yr9 8 (Robert Jones)).
To mark a student as "Present", select the appropriate option from the "Status" drop down menu in the respective Student's row.
This is where teachers can create and record results for learning tasks and exams. More information on Markbook can be found here.
This option will take you to your default mail client on your computer and will populate with email addresses of parents or class members and gives you the ability to send out a quick communication to either group. Emailing from the Diary screen uses your computer's external email client for a simpler quicker and more familiar process rather than the Edumate internal email mechanism that you may see when you email from other screens.
The school calendar will show all school related events that can be viewed by students, parents and other staff.
