The same schedule will be followed on both days of Summer Spark. Each time slot offers a variety of session options, so you can choose what’s most relevant and interesting to you. Attending both days? Great! You’ll have the opportunity to explore different sessions during each rotation—no repeats required. This flexible format is designed to give you choice, variety, and plenty of actionable takeaways for the year ahead.
9:00-9:05: Welcome!
Join us in the PMS cafeteria for a quick kickoff to the day. We’ll share a few important announcements before diving into Session 1—
be sure to arrive on time so you don’t miss a beat!
9:10-10:20: Instructional Workshops
These 70-minute sessions, led by supervisors, administrators, or ITCs, are designed to spotlight district priorities, curriculum updates, or strategic focus areas for the upcoming year. Choose an elementary- or secondary-aligned session based on your role.
10:25-11:10: Classroom Connections Workshops
These 45-minute sessions showcase real-world strategies, tech tools, and instructional ideas that have been successfully used in classrooms. Expect practical takeaways and relatable insights you can apply right away.
11:15-12:00: Take & Make
This hands-on block is all about implementation.
Elementary Team
Pick a platform or focus area, like Seesaw, Canva, or AI tools, and spend time customizing ready-to-use templates and resources you can launch in your classroom this fall.
Secondary Team -
Review resources created/modified by AI submitted by WCASD teachers. Take away examples to streamline, customize, and enhance your role as an educator.
ITCs and teacher facilitators will be available to support all spaces.
How did you decide on these new session formats?
This year’s structure was shaped by teacher feedback collected in the Summer Spark Survey shared in the spring. Many requested workshop learning opportunities, more interactive sessions, and time to walk away with ready-to-use materials. In response, we’ve updated the format to include focused sessions with district leaders, workshops, and hands-on Take & Make time to support practical implementation. We welcome your feedback on these new formats as we continue to reflect and plan for future professional learning opportunities.

This year’s schedule has been updated to match the 2025–2026 professional learning requirements. With a streamlined 3-hour schedule, attending both Summer Spark dates will fulfill your choice professional learning hours for the year.
