In the elementary orchestra, your child has the option of selecting from the following instruments:

The violin is the smallest and highest sounding instrument in the orchestra. Check out the videos below to learn more!
*Please note that you do not need to tune your child's instrument at home, it will be tuned weekly at their lesson. Students will learn to tune their instruments in 5th grade.
The violin is the second smallest instrument in the orchestra. It has one lower string than the violin, making it overall have a deeper tone. Check out the videos below to learn more! Although the one video is for the violin, the setup and structure is nearly identical for the viola so the information still applies.

The cello is the second largest instrument in the orchestra. You have to sit to play the cello because of its size. The cello is not able to ride the school bus for your child, so please reach out to Mrs. Hill if this is an issue.Check out the videos below to learn more!
*Depending on the number of students who sign up for the cello, you may be required to transport it to school weekly for lessons. Please keep this in mind when choosing an instrument.
The string bass is the largest and lowest sounding instrument in the orchestra. This instrument cannot be transported on the school bus, but we do have basses for your child do use for in-school lessons. A bass is still required for home practicing and concerts.
