As educators at Westminster Christian Academy, we strive to fulfill our vision of being a covenantal school that provides a quality education from a Biblical perspective by providing our students with the tools necessary to fulfill their calling to be independent, lifelong learners in the 21st century. To equip our students with skills for where God guides them in the future, we believe the use of technology supports the school’s mission. By integrating technology into our curriculum, we hope to enable students to develop essential skills to use technology in a Christ honoring manner and prepare them theologically, morally, academically, and with the technical skills to succeed in college and the workplace.
We are excited for the 2025-2026 school year to begin. Below you will find information about the technology requirements for students in grades 6 through 12.
For 9th through 12th-grade students: Chromebooks were purchased through the school. Each year 9th grade students and any new 10th through 12th grade students are provided their devices on several dates before school starts. The devices belong to the student and have a four-year warranty. Students should see Mrs. Killen or Mr. Russell in the IT department if the device needs attention. Students will be issued a temporary device if their computer needs to be shipped for repair. The school requires students to use these Chromebooks 9th through 12th grade.
For 7th and 8th-grade students, we are assigning Chromebooks to each student. Middle school students should not bring personal devices to school. They are expected to use the device provided by the school. There will be charging areas in classrooms where students may store their devices when not needed.
For 6th grade students, classrooms will have a set of Chromebooks that students will have access to during class. Students will learn to navigate WestmisterHub, Google Drive, and any other resources used for classwork.
Westminster Christian Academy offers access to computers and the Internet through our network. All policies pertaining to computer use are spelled out in the student handbook. To gain access, each student must obtain parental permission as verified by the signatures on the computer use form that is provided in Westminsterhub. The use of Westminster Christian Academy’s technology resources is a privilege, not a right. The privilege of using the technology resources provided by WCA is not transferable or extendible by students to people outside the school and terminates when a student is no longer enrolled at WCA.
