Hello!  I'm Tricia Wells and I'm the high school math teacher at West Central.

I have known since I was in the second grade that I wanted to be a teacher.  After graduating from North Fayette High School, it took me a while to settle on a college.  I started at UNI, transferred to NICC, then transferred again to UIU, which is where I graduated from in 2008.  While at UIU, I earned Bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Secondary Mathematics Education, with endorsements in Elementary Mathematics, Middle School Mathematics, and Middle School Language Arts.  (I was just as indecisive about what I wanted to teach as I was about where I wanted to go to college.)

Upon graduating from UIU, I transitioned from student to staff, and I managed the UIU Tutor Center for 10 years, tutoring in everything math and hiring peer tutors for everything else.  During that time, I met and married my now husband, Casey.  Together we have two daughters, Jayden and Delaney.

In 2018, I decided it was time to use my teaching degree.  West Central was already the second home to my children, so I decided to make it my second home as well.  I applied for the available math teaching position and I have been teaching high school mathematics here ever since.

In my free time, I enjoy crafting - being creative on my Cricut, diamond painting, crocheting, cross stitching, and scrapbooking; playing board games and card games; reading; and traveling with my family - we visit a different zoo every summer for the girls' birthday!

I truly love what I do!  Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I'm grateful for the opportunity West Central has provided me.  Each class I teach has a link below which will direct you to a course syllabus, the online curriculum platform, and other supplementary materials.
