April 2026 Update:
Following a failed supermajority vote for a new Middle High School building project in October 2025, in March/April 2026, both the School Committee and Select Board voted unanimously to submit a Statement of Interest for a new school building project focused on replacing Major Edwards Elementary School. The updated 2026 Statement of Interest can be accessed using this link.
Our district will be notified if the project is accepted from the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) by December 2026. The MSBA has not yet approved a new school building project for the Town of West Boylston.
July 2025 Update:
In March 2024, the Town of West Boylston submitted a Statement of Interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) to propose the construction of a new West Boylston Middle High School.
At the December 2024 Board of Directors meeting, the MSBA voted to issue an invitation to the Town of West Boylston to enter an initial Eligibility Period for this project. The Eligibility Period will assist the MSBA with managing its financial resources by identifying early in the process whether West Boylston is ready to manage and fund a new school building project. The Eligibility Period window for West Boylston will open in June 2025 and conclude in February 2026. The MSBA has not yet approved a new school building project for the Town of West Boylston.
